We tested a large number of different coffees from different countries of origin and discovered that not all coffees go well with milk. We chose a fine Robusta from Uganda as the basis of the mixture. It has the intensity, the powerful body and the syrupy texture that you would expect in a Cortado recipe. We also add the finest arabica from Africa and complete the powerful aroma profile.
ROASTING
When roasting, it is generally a matter of optimally coordinating the temperature, roasting duration and degree of roasting. If the coffee is to harmonize perfectly with milk, this is all the more important. For the Corto, we therefore roast the coffees over a long period of time in order to achieve the texture typical of a Spanish coffee. The long roasting – until the beans have taken on a dark, strong color – develops seductive bitter notes and the syrupy, full body.
FLAVOR PROFILE
The BARISTA CREATIONS Corto is easy to recognize by its pure strength and the intense roasted character. The Corto breaks through the milk with its strong aftertaste, elegant bitter notes and a full, structured body. With a shot of hot milk and topped with a little milk foam, enjoy the corto just like the traditional Spanish cortados.

Wir testeten eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Kaffees aus verschiedenen Ursprungslandern und entdeckten dabei, dass nicht alle Kaffees gut mit Milch harmonieren. Als Basis der Mischung wahlten wir einen feinen Robusta aus Uganda. Er bringt die Intensitat, den kraftigen Korper und die sirupartige Textur mit, die man in einem Cortado-Rezept erwartet. Dazu geben wir die feinsten Arabicas aus Afrika und vervollstandigen damit das kraftvolle Aromaprofil.
ROSTUNG
Beim Rosten geht es generell immer darum, Temperatur, Rostdauer und Rostgrad optimal aufeinander abzustimmen. Soll der Kaffee noch dazu perfekt mit Milch harmonieren, ist das umso wichtigter. Fur den Corto rosten wir die Kaffees deshalb uber einen langen Zeitraum, um die fur einen spanischen Kaffee typische Textur zu erreichen. Durch die lange Rostung – bis die Bohnen eine dunkle, kraftige Farbe angenommen haben – entwickeln sich verfuhrerische Bitternoten und der sirupartige, volle Korper.
AROMAPROFIL
Der BARISTA CREATIONS Corto ist leicht an seiner puren Starke und dem intensiven Rostcharakter zu erkennen. Der Corto durchbricht die Milch mit seinem kraftigen Nachklang, den eleganten Bitternoten und einem vollen, strukturierten Korper. Mit einem Schuss hei?er Milch und gekront mit etwas Milchschaum genie?en Sie den Corto ganz nach der Art der traditionellen spanischen Cortados.
